Ideas That Are and Are Not Patented

I had a strange idea, supposing I perfected a time machine and went into the past. I found Adolph Hitler as a child and just killed him, thus saving millions of lives. I would be arrested and they would never believe me whatever I said.

Is this one of the problems today in that things must happen before anything is done?
